Hillside Primitive Methodist Chapel
The Primitive Methodist Chapel was erected and given to Ackworth by John Fields Esq. of Pennsylvania, USA costing upwards of £900.
More details of this can be found in the 50th Jubilee booklet in our Museum Church Artefacts page, which has the above photograph on it's front cover.
The chapel closed in the 1960s and became Ray Winfield's car sales. It later became, and is still the mower shop and amazingly still retains its rather splendid weather vane and corner stone finials on the roof!
