The 2021 Scarecrow Festival has just come to an end and it was fantastic to see such a vivid celebration of the history of Britain through the use of straw. The standard was amazing again and it was very hard to judge the winners and that's why us organisers decided to pass some of the buck to those who created a scarecrow to enter. Everyone who entered was asked to pick their top three scarecrows, the votes were scored and counted and the Participants' Choice winner was announced, alongside the Judge's Winner and Runner Up.
Participants' Choice Winner: Claire Bell - Charles Darwin
Judge's Winner: Angie Hollinworth - Gulliver's Travels
Judge's Runner Up: Emma Lee-Wilby - Tim Peake
There was also a special trophy for Oakfield Park School and some runner-up certificates for the other two schools who entered; Bell Lane and Howard schools.
Thanks again to everyone who entered and made the festival so special.

It was great to see how proud the children were of their scarecrows and their prizes. Well done all.
